Illuminations is the wondrous laser/fireworks spectacular at the end of the day at Epcot. Displayed over the World Showcase lagoon (Crescent Lake), this show features pyrotechnics, lasers, and a moving instrumental score the leaves me amazed every time I see it (even if my wife doesnt love it).

Chim Chim Cheeree! One of the opening scenes in the Studios Great Movie Ride. A simply incredible attraction featuring audio animatronic scenes of some of the most famous movies in history is NOT to be missed. A+

As any true Disney theme park fan knows, these are like GOLD! For those not in the know, these are Fastpass tickets, which allow you to ride the attractions almost by appointment. The concept is simple, get a Fastpass for the ride of choice, come back during the valid times, and skip most of the other people in line. While you wait for your ticket to become valid, you go do something else. A simple idea, and unlike other parks (cough cough) it doesn't cost a dime!

As you may have noticed, I have added a little webpoll to the right side of the frame. The inaugural poll is simple: What is your favorite Magic Kingdom attraction? Magic Kingdom means in any of the four, soon to be five, Disney Resort locations (California, Florida, Japan, France). Please vote and I may use this information when deciding what the photo of the day is in the future...who knows, mayber there will be a prize once in a while.

The Living Seas at Epcot, as illuminated at night. The Living Seas is an aquarium, but by Disney standards. It's huge and has various exhibits inside...really a neat little diversion from the sun.

This beautiful night photograph of Spaceship Earth was taken from across Crescent Lake in the World Showcase area of Epcot. This was taken right after Christmas, hence the tree on the right side. Spaceship Earth is a sight to be seen at night, simply stunning. Not to mention that it is HUGE!

The treasure room scene in the Disneyland Pirates of the Caribbean. This scene was omitted from the Walt Disney World edition and is a sight to be scene. Here a skeletal pirate gets to spend eternity playing with his cursed treasure, yet never being able to do anything with it.

What would you do to enhance this blog and make it even better? What would you change or add to it? Any ideas on how to decide what to post (i.e. what parks, rides, etc) instead of off the top of my head like I do now?

Adventureland is one of the themed 'lands' at the Magic Kingdom and Disneyland. This is the gateway to Adventureland as seen upon approaching from the hub in front of the castle. This photo is lit almost entirely by the torches in the shot and around the area. Took a little while to get this one right, but that's why I carry around a small tripod in my backpack. I stood here for quite a while admiring the scene and waiting for a clean shot with no people in the shot. Very nicely done by Disney.

The Mark Twain is a riverboat that takes a leisurely loop through the Rivers of America in Disneyland. Here the ship is depicted in dock as it ceases operation at night. It looks great and is a fun ride to enjoy. I love the way it looks here with the lights and reflection from the water.

Big Thunder Mountain at the Magic Kingdom in Florida, caught in twilight glory. This runaway train styled roller coaster is one of my favorite Disney rides in any of the parks. The themeing is great with an incredibly detailed wild wild west motif throughout. Not to be missed on any Disney World trip.

This was the New Year's Fireworks spectacular at the Magic Kingdom in Florida. Taken at about 12:01am on 1/1/2005, this was the most incredible fireworks display I have EVER seen. The display was so wide, this was the widest lens I had at the time, and it was STILL not enough. This was taken from the beach of the Polynesian Resort, and you can see Cinderlla's Castle in the bottom middle, across the water. I love watching the fireworks from this location.

This is the opening scene/fanfare to the wonderful SpectroMagic parade at the Magic Kingdom in Florida. I love this parade and it's music. This is truly one of the wonders of the Magic Kingdom and I could watch it every day without it getting old. There are dozens of floats each adorned with twinkle lights, fiberoptics, and special effects and Disney characters of course.

These are the two busts that see to watch you whereever you go in the Haunted Mansion. As you move from right to left, they move from right to left in relation to you. They are always watching YOU. How do they do it? Well, I know but I am not going to ruin it for anyone else. It's a pretty creepy and way cool effect.

Here we have a friendship boat en route to Future World from the World Showcase at Epcot. The friendship boats are part of Disney World's internal transportation system and are used for transportation from the Disney Boardwalk and related resorts to Epcot and the Disney Studios. I thoroughly enjoy the boats and much prefer them to the buses that are also part of Disney Transportation.

This is the wonderful 'Partners' statue that is the centerpiece of the 'hub' in front of Cinderella's Castle in the Magic Kingdom, Florida. It was placed there on 6/19/1995 as a tribute to the legendary founder of the Walt Disney Company and his most famous creation. This beautiful statue is also featured in Disneyland and Tokyo Disney. In this photo, the bronze statue is captured with Cinderella's castle in the background in all of it's lightscaped splendor. The Magic Kingdom is truly a sight to be seen at night.

In the back you see the beautiful Epcot signature landmark, Spaceship Earth. The 'Leave a Legacy' program features black and white images created from digital pictures taken of park guests at the Leave a Legacy pavilion, which is featured here. The images are then printed on stainless steel 'plaques' mounted on granite slabs in the entrance plaza in front of Spaceship Earth and will be there for an undetermined amount of years for park guests to enjoy. I really like the shapes and lines in this photo. Comments?

This photo is from Main Street USA on 12/30/2004. I zoomed way in with a shallow aperture and focused on the clock to keep the clock sharp while blurring the castle and holiday decorations in the background. It is one of my favorite Disney photos.

This is the wonderful Tree of Life at Disney's Animal Kingdom in Florida. This man-made tree has hundreds of different animals carved into the 'trunk' which makes for a fascinating view from all angles. You get to see this treasure as you emerge from the Oasis, the entry 'land' to the AK. It is huge and will leave you awestruck when you first see it.

This one comes from the beautiful pre-show area of the Enchanted Tiki Room. I really love they way the Imagineers decorated this area of Adventureland, including the areas just outside of the Tiki Room. A+

This comes deep from French Quarter...New Orleans Square in DL. Tucked deep into the back streets, I thought this was a really interesting viewpoint with lines, intersections, and plantlife all in one handsome package.

Greetings from Sunset Boulevard at the Disney Studios in Florida. I love this photo and to me it seems like a postcard. You have some of the shops on the right hand side and the ominious Hollywood Tower Hotel to the left looming in the background. You can almost hear the screams from the Tower blending in with the music from the Boulevard.

The beautiful entry way to the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction, New Orleans Square in Disneyland. My wife and I find the DL version of POTC to be superior to the WDW version, and that is quite a compliment. POTC is my second favorite attraction, right behind the Haunted Mansion, the WDW version of that being better than DL.

This photo comes from the One Man's Dream attraction at the Disney Studios in Florida. This display is right inside the door and features the words 'started by a mouse' which are projected in light and move about at random intervals. I had to wait about 10 minutes for the prime opportunity but I think I nailed it. Enjoy.
